Proof of Concept Trailer

GingerPants Productions in collaboration with Blue Ink Entertainment made a short film proof of concept of Cat Cat Mouse filmed in South London, UK in August 2025.

Two people looking at each other softly near a window with blinds.

LOGLINE/SYNOPSIS

After her husband is killed under mysterious circumstances, a famous photographer falls for the female MI6 agent tasked with uncovering her husband‘s ties to a scandalous cover-up.

Set in the vibrant yet shadowy streets of London during the Christmas season, and juxtaposed against the real-life backdrop of the war in Afghanistan, this story of international intrigue led by a virtually all female cast in a world typically dominated by men uniquely blends espionage and a burgeoning love story between two women who are trying desperately to trust one another through a high stakes cat-and-mouse game of deception.

American photojournalist Helen Lassiter has just won the Pulitzer Prize for her photography of the Afghan war. She awakens to find her British pharmaceutical research analyst husband, Rick dead on the floor while she slept in their London flat. Shattered by this tragedy, whilst trying to navigate her grief, she learns Rick was entangled in a cover-up involving a drug that led to numerous suicides among war veterans. She must team up with a mysterious MI6 Agent, Alexandra as she seeks the truth behind Rick’s death while facing lethal threats and an undeniable chemistry blossoming with Alexandra.

Much of the dialogue feels authentic and a lot of it is very clever and funny. A favorite being, “aren’t all American women vegetarians now?” We truly get lost in the character’s world as much of it effortlessly glides off the page.

London Screenplay Competition

This screenplay exhibits a lot of heart and would make a strong action film. The plot is creative and uses exciting twists to great effect. Overall, the dialogue is crafted with care and exhibits the deep thought the writer put into developing the characters.
